ESpeak on iPhone

Following the idea of FLite porting, I decided to investigate on ESpeak. The big advantage of ESpeak compared with FLite is the big list of languages and voices available. Here there are some screenshots of the iPhone application:

Mail me if you are interested in this project.

PS: Notice that ESpeak is GPLv3 while FLite is without restrictions.

  2. Hi Vasanth, sorry for the late answer, I just returned from holiday.
The plan is to upload the FLite and ESpeak examples in a shared storage. I am evaluating Google Sites at the moment. Do you know any alternatives.

    regards

  3. Hi. It would be cool if one could use the commandline version of espeak on iphone.

I would use it with netcat like they do in this example: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=87319 Anyway, i would love to see a howto! :)

  4. Hi John,

I am really interested in porting eSPeak to iPhone. However, I downloaded the source file and it seems not compilable on Mac. Any tricks I should do? I am using the Sada as the Audio rather than PortAudio. Is that correct? Can you possibly provide me with more information regarding compiling this for iPhone? Thank you very much!

  5. Hi John,

For an iPhone/iPad project we need to integrate TTS in our application. Is the ESpeak already uploaded somewhere? Can you give me an estimate?

    Thanks in advance.
